African Development Bank Group to Build State-of-the-Art Headquarters in Abidjan

The African Development Bank Group has received approval from its Boards of Directors to construct a modern, state-of-the-art headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. This landmark decision underscores the Bank's commitment to strengthening its presence in the region and creating a conducive environment for its staff.
The new headquarters will be designed to enhance the well-being of employees, support business operations, and align with global standards of energy efficiency and sustainability. The Bank’s President, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, described the decision as historic, emphasizing that the facility will reflect the Bank’s global reputation as Africa’s premier financial institution.
The project is a realization of a vision set by Dr. Adesina since his election in 2015, aiming to provide a world-class workplace that fosters productivity and collaboration. The headquarters will also feature upgraded facilities to engage with shareholders and stakeholders more effectively, reinforcing the Bank’s role in driving Africa’s economic transformation.
The Government of Côte d'Ivoire has shown strong support for the initiative, with President Alassane Ouattara providing the title deed for the project site. The new headquarters stands as a symbol of the African Development Bank's long-term commitment to the country and the continent’s development agenda.
